Music Play is child’s play. Let your child experience it!

What is unique about Music Play?
Music Play combines interactive songs with a philosophy of play.

It invites children to explore their voices, bodies and imaginations through singing, moving, instrument playing and role-play.
In Music Play children
  • listen and respond to one another;
  • have their creative interventions witnessed and celebrated;
  • learn to make music by simply playing with sounds;
  • learn to express their needs and feelings non-verbally through song, movement and instrumental dialogues and ensembles;
  • become more communicative in their imaginative play as they jam on instruments;
  • explore “body talk” through free movement improvisation;
  • co-create and enact music stories.

"Whether attending the classes or sharing the CDs in the car and at home, Music Play helps your children build not only their listening, co-ordination and sequencing skills, but their social skills as well."

Who is to aimed at?
Children aged 3-7 years.

How will my child benefit?
Through Music Play your child will
  • appreciate synergy and synthesis (as an anti-dote to analysis) through the non-competitive, group nature of the activities;
  • understand basic maths concepts through movement and musical explorations such as counting, combinations, part-whole relations, adding on and subtracting through lyrics and movement;
  • respond to expressive language opportunities through co-creative song, role-play and discussion as well as to non-verbal vocalising, sound-making and the language of the body;
  • experience leadership opportunities and diversity awareness through leading-and-following activities;
  • learn basic life-skills such as initiating, cue following, harmonizing, and listening and accepting boundaries through structured ensemble movement and sound-making activities;
  • learn improvisation skills through the enactment of story and music and experience cause and effect, moral choices, values and the meaning that comes from experience;
  • display a more freed-up body-mind: be less likely to adopt rigid body postures and avoidance behaviours such as folded arms, eye-contact refusal, mutism, turning away from others (giving them the “cold shoulder”) and general non-attention;
  • learn to put the fun and meaning into function through the experience of integrating movement, rhythm, language and music in partnership.
